SALEM, Va. – Averett’s James Contreras scored 22 points and Hamed Shamseldin of The College at Brockport added 18 as the East team topped the West, 210-114, in the 2018 Reese’s Division III All-Star game Saturday at the Salem Civic Center.
Aaron McFarland of Christopher Newport and Tarchee Brown of Eastern Connecticut scored 16 points apiece with Brown leading coach Mike Neer’s East team with 12 rebounds and five assists.
Olivet’s Jalen Adams paced the West with 19 points while Ishimeal Nance of Penn State Altoona scored 16. Jaqhawn Walters of Albertus Magnus had a game-high 15 rebounds for coach Cliff Garrison’s team.
The game was played prior to the 2018 NCAA Division III championship game.
