Dear Coaches,
Since the moment the 2020 NABC Convention was canceled due to COVID-19, our staff has been hard at work evaluating options for the 2021 Convention. Throughout these months, we have remained in regular contact with the NCAA and officials in Indianapolis, while continuing to track the pandemic and its impact on the coaching profession.
Today, we have officially made the decision to conduct the 2021 NABC Convention as a virtual event.
Many coaches have had travel and professional development budgets slashed or eliminated altogether this year. We want to make the NABC Convention accessible to our entire membership, and removing the burden of travel costs best positions us to do so.
Additionally, from the onset of the pandemic, the NABC has made the health and safety of our members the highest priority. We believe shifting to a virtual convention is consistent with that commitment.
I share your disappointment that we will be unable to gather in-person in Indianapolis. However, I’m confident in our ability to deliver a first-class professional development event in an online setting.
The virtual 2021 NABC Convention will provide the same level of programming you’ve grown accustomed to, and in fact, may open up new opportunities to enhance the event. A diverse lineup of speakers will lead keynote sessions and PDS Clinics. Coaches from all levels of the sport will have their achievements celebrated at awards ceremonies. And the industry’s most innovative products and services will be on display at the NABC MARKETPLACE trade show.
We are excited to roll out more details about the 2021 NABC Convention after the first of the year. Registration will open in mid-January with a discounted early-bird rate. I hope you’ll join us!
Making the most out of difficult circumstances has been the theme for us all in 2020, and will remain the NABC’s mission into the upcoming year.
Sincerely,
Craig Robinson
NABC Executive Director
