Hall of Fame Classic - Media

The NABC accepts Hall of Fame Classic media credential applications from eligible media based on guidelines outlined below. Credentialed media are expected to comply with all terms and conditions placed on credential approval. Credential approval decisions are at the discretion of NABC staff. The deadline to apply for 2025 Hall of Fame Classic credentials is November 14, 2025.

Credential Policy

Hall of Fame Classic credentials may be issued to working members of the media only, including those in print, digital, television, radio, photography, and videography. Credentials will be assigned only to media outlets that are a legally established entity and that regularly cover national college basketball and/or one of the event’s participating teams. Pending space availability, some media may be placed in overflow seating during the event. Credentials are non-transferable; any unauthorized transfer will result in loss of credential privileges with no exceptions.

Miscellaneous Eligibility Policies

  • Freelance reporters, photographers or videographers will not be credentialed unless they are working under a specific assignment for an established media outlet. The NABC may request confirmation of the freelance assignment from a representative of the media outlet.
  • Credentials will not be assigned for the sole purpose of personal social media content, personal podcasts, personal content portfolios, or any other personal use.
  • Having been credentialed for a previous Hall of Fame Classic or other NABC event does not automatically qualify an outlet or individual for credentials.
  • Membership in a writers’ or broadcasters’ association (i.e. USBWA) does not automatically qualify an individual for credentials.

Live Video Policy

Non-originating media outlets may record live standups or other content on event day before and after the broadcast windows begin and end. Recordings must take place in an off-court corner of the arena bowl or outside of the playing area. No live transmission of any kind will be permitted during the broadcast windows.

Pool Reporter Policy

The NABC will work with credentialed media to assign a pool reporter at the Hall of Fame Classic. Pool reporters may request access to the lead game official, via NABC staff, when a game includes a potential fighting situation that results in a technical foul and/or ejection of a participant; if a rules interpretation is needed; or there is a clock/timing issue. Additionally, if NABC staff deem it in the best interest of the event for broadcast partners and members of the media to receive an interpretation pertaining to another specific situation, it may request an additional statement from the lead game official. No one other than the game officials, members of the NABC staff, and the designated pool reporter are permitted in the officials locker room during the pool report meeting. Following the pool report meeting, the NABC will issue a statement and will distribute it to media covering the event.

NBA Scouts

In addition to applying for a credential, all NBA scouts must purchase a ticket to attend the Hall of Fame Classic (click here to purchase). No media seating will be reserved for scouts.
