NABC Statement on Mike Krzyzewski's Retirement Announcement

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson has released the following statement regarding Mike Krzyzewski’s announcement of his intent to retire following the 2021-22 season.

“Mike Krzyzewski’s legacy is evident across our sport through his national championships, gold medals, accomplished former players and vast coaching tree. His true impact, however, extends far beyond wins and awards. Coach K has always been passionate about growing young people into future leaders, and his advocacy for coaches’ development – including terms as president of both the NABC and NABC Foundation – will continue to influence the game for generations to come. On behalf of the NABC, I wish Coach K success in his final season on the sidelines, and look forward to continuing our collective work to better college basketball and the coaching profession.”
