Iona’s Anderson, Texas A&M’s Williams to Coach NABC – Reese’s Division I All-Star Game

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Texas A&M coach Buzz Williams and newly-named Iona coach Tobin Anderson have been selected to serve as coaches in the upcoming NABC – Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game.

The All-Star game will take place on Friday, March 31 at 3:30 p.m. CT at NRG Stadium in Houston as part of Reese’s Final Four Friday. The game will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network, and admission to the game and Reese’s Final Four Friday is free.

Anderson was named the new head coach at Iona on March 21 after leading Fairleigh Dickinson to just the second No. 16 seed-over-No. 1 seed upset in NCAA Tournament history. Anderson’s FDU team went 21-16 overall this season, earning the NEC’s automatic bid. Before the Knights’ upset of Purdue, they defeated Texas Southern in the First Four.

Anderson has also held prior head coaching roles at St. Thomas Aquinas, Hamilton and Clarkson.

Williams has been the head coach at Texas A&M since 2019, and has guided the Aggies to a combined 52 wins over the past two seasons. A&M went 25-10 in 2022-23 – including a 15-3 second-place finish in the SEC regular season standings – and earned a No. 7 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Williams was named both the 2023 NABC District 20 Coach of the Year and the Co-SEC Coach of the Year.

Before taking the Texas A&M job, Williams led Virginia Tech to three NCAA Tournaments and Marquette to five.

Player rosters for the NABC – Reese’s Division I College All-Star Game will be announced in the coming days.
