NABC, Grow the Game Extend Partnership to Support Student-Managers

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NABC has extended a partnership with Grow the Game to support college basketball student-managers through multiple professional development and career placement opportunities.

Through the partnership, managers who participate in Grow the Game will receive free access to the extensive X&O, leadership development and networking content at the upcoming NABC Convention in Houston. Additionally, the NABC will support Grow the Game’s GA Pathway Program, which facilitates connections between managers and college basketball coaches for open graduate assistant positions.

Launched in 2020, Grow the Game is a community of current and former basketball student-managers that provides its members with networking and career development services. Its 2023 GA Pathway Program has over 60 highly-qualified participants who will take part in multiple professional development workshops and receive resume and interview prep support.

Grow the Game will also host a first-of-its-kind Virtual GA Job Fair in April to serve as a first interview-like setting for coaches and participants.

“Managers are an invaluable resource to college basketball programs,” said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “For many, serving as a student-manager is the first step towards an eventual career in coaching or basketball administration. The NABC is grateful for Grow the Game’s commitment to serving these young men and women, and we look forward to the continued evolution of this impactful partnership.”
