From the Executive Director: The NABC Needs You on Our Team!

NABC members,

While it feels as if nets were just cut down and national championship trophies were just handed out, the 2025-26 season is already fast approaching. As you prepare for the year ahead, I wanted to personally encourage you to remain a member of the NABC and to link arms with us in our collective work as Guardians of the Game.

As I embark on my sixth year as NABC Executive Director, I find myself more energized than ever about the association’s trajectory and the impact of our numerous member services. I hope you share my excitement.

Our advocacy work continues to amplify the essential voice of coaches on issues spanning all levels of the sport – whether it’s discussing athlete compensation and the House settlement in Division I, or addressing rising attrition of coaches and officials in high schools and youth programs. The NABC remains steadfast in our belief that coaches – that your voices – deserve a seat at the table.

We continue to invest in professional development opportunities that help coaches grow on and off the court. The 2025 NABC Convention was our best yet, and I’m pleased to report encouraging progress in our ongoing negotiations with the NCAA that would keep the NABC Convention operating alongside the Final Four in 2026 and beyond. We know the NABC Convention is of great importance to so many of you, and ensuring a successful and sustainable future for the event is an unquestioned top priority for our staff and Board of Directors.

In collaboration with our partners at Championship Productions, the regional NABC Championship Basketball Clinics are producing industry-leading coaching education. Additionally, programs like the NABC Mentor Circle are expanding networks and investing in the game’s next generation of influential coaches and leaders.

Wherever you coach, whatever job title you hold, the NABC is working on your behalf.

But we can’t do it alone. The NABC community is nearly 5,000 members strong, with each of you playing a vital role in shaping the future of our sport and the coaching profession. We need you on our team – so if you have yet to do so, I invite you now to renew you NABC membership for the 2025-26 season.

Here’s to an exciting year on the horizon!

Sincerely,

Craig Robinson
