Lewis-Clark State's Johnson Named NABC NAIA Coach of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced today that Austin Johnson of Lewis-Clark State College has been selected as the 2021 NABC NAIA Coach of the Year presented by Wilson.
 
In just his third season as the head coach at Lewis-Clark State College (ID), Austin Johnson took the Warriors to the NAIA championship game, dropping a 74-68 contest to Shawnee State (OH) in the 83rd NAIA men’s basketball championship in Kansas City. LC was ranked fourth nationally heading into the NAIA Sweet 16 and registered wins over Johnson’s alma mater, Oklahoma Wesleyan, Loyola (LA) and Southwestern Assemblies of God University to reach the final.
 
Through three seasons, Johnson has led the Warriors to an impressive 81-12 won-lost record.  He will receive his award on Friday, April 2, during the virtual AT&T NABC Guardians of the Game Awards Show, which begins at 6:30 pm (EDT).
