KANSAS CITY, Mo. – John Krikorian of national champion Christopher Newport has been selected as the 2023 NABC Division III Coach of the Year.
Krikorian led the Captains to a 30-3 record this season, capped by a thrilling buzzer-beating victory over Mount Union in the NCAA Division III championship game. CNU also captured the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference championship earlier in the season.
Christopher Newport outscored opponents by over 13 points per game in 2022-23, and defensively held its competition to just 39.5 percent shooting overall and 28.2 percent shooting from long distance. The Captains ended the season on a 15-game winning streak.
