Lipscomb’s Acuff Begins Term as NABC President

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lipscomb University head men’s basketball coach Lennie Acuff will serve as the President of the NABC Board of Directors for the 2023-24 season. Acuff’s term as President will run through the 2024 Men’s Final Four.

Acuff, who just completed his fourth season at Lipscomb after previously spending 22 years at Alabama-Huntsville, first joined the NABC Board of Directors in 2010. In his role as NABC President, Acuff will provide strategic leadership for the NABC Board of Directors on its advocacy work and initiatives that support the coaching profession and the game of basketball.

“Lennie Acuff has been an asset to the NABC Board of Directors for many years, and the entire sport will be well served by his efforts as President during the upcoming season,” said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. “Lennie’s diverse experiences at multiple levels of college basketball will allow him to take a holistic approach to addressing the issues that currently impact our game. I’m confident he will be an effective voice on behalf of the NABC membership.”

Acuff is coming off his best season at Lipscomb, as the Bisons won 20 games and reached the ASUN Tournament semifinals. While at UAH, Acuff won eight regular season conference titles and reached 11 NCAA Division II Tournaments – including a pair of Elite Eight appearances.

Acuff assumes the NABC President role following the 2022-23 term of Stevenson coach Gary Stewart.
