Notable Coaches to Participate in Friday Webinar Addressing Racial Injustice

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Seven influential men’s basketball coaches will participate in a special webinar event on Friday, June 5 at 3:00 p.m. (ET) titled “Using Your Platform as a Coach During this Critical Time.” The forum, which is part of the ongoing NABC Championship Webinar series, will feature dialogue on how coaches can address racial injustice and other important societal issues.

Scheduled to appear on the webinar are Tulane coach Ron Hunter, Kentucky coach John Calipari, South Carolina coach Frank Martin, Houston coach Kelvin Sampson, Penn State coach Pat Chambers, Stevenson coach Gary Stewart and NABC Board of Directors member Ernie Kent.

“Because of basketball, I have been given a platform that I never had growing up, just like the majority of the people from my neighborhood,” said Martin. “It is my duty to utilize my platform to always speak on the things that are necessary to provide help to all.”

The webinar will be free to view for all coaches and the general public. Click here to pre-register for the event.

The NABC Championship Webinar series is a joint coaching education initiative between the NABC and Championship Productions. One hundred sessions with many of the game’s top coaches were held over the past two months, with dozens more scheduled throughout June and July.
