Brown, Fenlon Receive NABC DIII Outstanding Service Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Former Wittenberg coach Bill Brown and former DePauw coach Bill Fenlon have been selected as the recipients of the 2024 NABC Division III Outstanding Service Awards.

 

The honors recognize coaches and contributors who have made a significant impact on NCAA Division III basketball, their local communities, and the coaching profession.

 

Bill Brown served as the head coach at Wittenberg from 1993 through his retirement in 2016, where he won 483 games, reached 12 NCAA Tournaments, and advanced to Final Fours in 1994 and 2006. He also won 60 more games in earlier stops at Kenyon and Wooster. Brown won 20 or more games 14 times at Wittenberg, including in 10 of his final 12 seasons.

 

Fenlon won 587 career games across 37 seasons as a head coach – 30 of which were spent at DePauw. He also held head coaching roles at Southwestern, Rose-Hulman, and Sewanee. Fenlon’s 480 victories at DePauw are the most in program history, and he led the Tigers to five NCAA Tournament appearances prior to retiring in 2022.
