Minnesota State’s Margenthaler Named NABC DII Coach of the Year

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Minnesota State’s Matt Margenthaler, whose program captured the NCAA Division II national championship on Saturday, has been named the 2024 NABC Division II Coach of the Year presented by the Marines.

 

Margenthaler’s Mavericks finished the season 35-2, capped by an 88-85 victory over Nova Southeastern in the national title game. Minnesota State also won the NSIC regular season and tournament championships.

 

The Mavericks outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points per game this season while shooting 49.1 percent overall as a team and making over nine threes per game.

 

Margenthaler’s selection as NABC Division II Coach of the Year marks the first time a Minnesota State coach has won the award.
