KANSAS CITY, Mo. – James Cosgrove, head coach of national champion Trinity (CT), has been named the 2025 NABC Division III Coach of the Year.
Cosgrove led his Trinity program to a 30-3 overall record and a NESCAC Tournament championship along with the NCAA national title. The Bantams won each of their first four NCAA Tournament games by double digits, before defeating Wesleyan 73-69 in the semifinals and NYU 64-60 in the championship game.
Trinity outscored its opponents by an average of 19.5 points per game this season and held opponents to just 35.6 percent shooting overall and 29.6 percent on three pointers. The Bantams also forced over 14 turnovers per game and outrebounded opponents by an average of 8.8 boards per game.
Trinity’s national title was the first in school history. Cosgrove has been the program’s head coach for 15 years, and has won 486 total games in his career.
