NABC Announces 2025-26 Two-Year College Awards

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The NABC has announced its 2025-26 Two-Year College Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, and All-America Teams, headlined by the Howard College duo of head coach Kyle Cooper and freshman Terry Copeland.

 

Cooper has been selected as the NABC Two-Year College Coach of the Year, while Copeland was voted as the NABC Two-Year College Player of the Year. The NABC Two-Year College All-America Teams, meanwhile, include representation from NJCAA, CCCAA, and NWAC programs.

 

Cooper’s Howard program finished the season 33-4 overall en route to capturing the NJCAA Division I national championship. The Hawks outscored opponents by an average of over 16 points per game and outrebounded their competition by an average of 12.5 per game. Howard ended the season on an eight-game winning streak, including an 82-67 victory over Southern Idaho in the national title game.

 

Copeland averaged 19.8 points per game on 67.5 percent shooting to go along with 7.9 rebounds per game this season. He was selected as the WJCAC Player and Newcomer of the Year, and was a member of the All-Region V Team. He also earned NJCAA Men’s Basketball Championship MVP honors after leading the Hawks with 23 points and 16 rebounds in the national championship game.
