NABC Remembers Pete Carril

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson has released a statement following the passing of longtime coach Pete Carril.

“Pete Carril’s fingerprints are all over the game of basketball, and will remain so for generations to come. His signature offensive style became the defining characteristic of the Princeton program, and his philosophies continue to influence how offensive systems are developed to this day. But Coach Carril’s legacy goes far beyond the Princeton offense. Coach Carril was a trusted mentor and educator to the student-athletes who had the privilege of playing for him – myself included. Personally, I was impacted as much if not more by his many life lessons taught through basketball. I can say with confidence that I would not be where I am today had it not been for Coach Carril – and I am certainly not alone in that sentiment. I offer Coach’s loved ones my deepest condolences on behalf of the NABC, and in doing so, I remember with gratitude a life well lived.”
